Scleroderma literally means “hard skin.” Scleroderma is a complex disease that is characterized by tightening and thickening skin, blood vessel damage, inflammation, and immune system changes. The cause of scleroderma is unknown and the treatments are few and not very effective. However, modern medicine has made great strides in treating individual complication of scleroderma.
